Eurovia UK Innovation Day 2018

Eurovia UK has staged its first ever Innovation Day to encourage all divisions throughout the business to think about new and innovative ways of working.

The event was part of the International Innovation Day, during which Eurovia SAS President & CEO Pierre Anjolras urged staff around the globe to adopt an innovative mindset to drive the business forward through boldness, curiosity and attentive listening.

Workshops, presentations and discussions were held at numerous locations across England by each division, along with the launch of Eureka – a new digital innovation platform piloted by Eurovia UK that gives staff around the globe an opportunity to share ideas that could solve challenges faced by other users.

Users can to engage by submitting their own innovative ideas, as well as share, comment on and vote on those submitted by others. The ideas will be reviewed with the potential to be implemented to improve existing services and identify possible new income streams.

Yogesh Patel, Process & Improvement Director, said: “Innovation is vital for the future of our business in the same way Safety is vital to the wellbeing of our people. Innovation means being open to all ideas whether internally or from external partners.  We need to collaborate, experiment and, most importantly, engage with our people to learn from our collective creativity.”

The Innovation Day also saw the launch of Eurovia UK’s biennial Innovation Awards, which recognise pioneering practice across the company.

The Innovation Awards 2018 have three themes – safety, sustainability and partnerships. They will recognise innovative practice in categories including management, processes and techniques, equipment and tools, marketing services, dissemination and digital. There will also be a special recognition prize and a grand prize.

The closing date for entries, through Eureka, is 28th September 2018 and the Awards are open to everyone in Eurovia UK businesses, as well as joint ventures BEAR Scotland and Ringway Jacobs.
