Network Management

Managing the highway network, so that local events, highway maintenance, and the work of third parties are managed, our teams draw on 40 years of experience in highways maintenance. This knowledge and experience allows us to plan and manage through programmed and planned improvements.

Our teams coordinate works through an ‘Operations Hub’. This Hub combines works programming, and scheduling to carefully plan network availability. This allows our teams to be focused on making sure that we make the best use of the current highway network, given all the competing demands upon it whilst supporting our teams to maintain and improve the highway.
Local Authorities have a legal duty to co-ordinate works to facilitate the movement of traffic on the public highway. As part of our Highways PFI contracts our teams have taken over this responsibility. Our teams are working with local people, businesses, utility companies and other transport providers to plan and programme works on the highway in a way that minimises disruption to the travelling public.
