Our Environment

Eurovia UK is committed to managing our impacts on the environment and to ensure that the measures we take to protect it are effective. We adopt best environmental practice within our operations and reduce our consumption of natural resources wherever possible for the benefit of future generations. We have long standing experience with a robust environmental management system, which meets the ISO 14001 standard.

We actively seek innovation in the environment, making this a separate category in our biennial innovation awards. We have invested in rainwater harvesting, water recycling systems, renewable energy generation, fuel efficiency improvements and have continued to find new ways to divert waste from landfill.

Sustainable technological innovations include recycling of street and gully waste, using low temperature asphalt products and fuel reduction campaigns, such as ‘Lean your Load’.

We have increased our focus on environmentally responsible behaviours and on improvements to our environment-related reporting and management systems. We also run an environmental awareness training course throughout the group to support our employees to prevent harm.

All of our employees have a responsibility to safeguard the environment and use resources efficiently and effectively. Our key drivers to achieve sustainability from our actions fall under our mantra – ‘Reduce, Reuse and recycle’.

Reduce

We reduce the impact of our operations on our community and the environment, by carefully planning and managing our business to minimise waste, disruption and harm.

Re-use

We promote re-use of all resources and materials wherever practicable.

Recycle

We seek to recycle all waste materials that are an integral part of our day-to-day operations via conventional means and innovative processes.
