Eurovia Contracting are experts at delivering highways and infrastructure schemes from urban public realm improvements to major carriageway construction. Our service delivery relies on our impressive fleet of general works vehicles and specialist plant equipment, all of which needs to undergo strict safety, repair and maintenance regimes.

 

About the role:

You will be managing the workshop and team of skilled fitters who are carrying out the servicing and repairs of all our key assets, such as rollers, asphalt pavers, white liners and sprayers. The main priorities are to ensure safe working conditions and compliance, coordinating maintenance plans and proactively dealing with breakdowns that enable operational teams to keep on track.

Key duties will include:

  • Motivate and manage team performance
  • Interface with the Transport Logistics Manager to ensure equipment is ready to be deployed to operations within designated timescales
  • Programme work and ensure it is carried out to the manufactures recommendations
  • Instigate and manage a structured maintenance programme
  • Foster a proactive approach to preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all breakdowns are covered and carried out in a timely manner
  • Finance – complete daily records and other reporting sheets
  • Ensure re-charges and costs are managed within the company systems and timescales
  • Efficiently manage spare parts / stock control

The ideal candidate:

Experience of working in a similar environment is essential to appreciate the scale and complexity of specialist plant and realistic timescales and priorities involved in scheduling plans and repairs. It is also essential to have at least supervised teams, have a commitment to safe working practices and proactively undertake the administrative aspects that come with the responsibility of overseeing an operation.

 

Essential qualifications:

City & Guilds in Commercial/Plant vehicle repairs or equivalent

CPC in transport would be an advantage as would LGV Class 1 or 2 but we are willing to provide this training
